In Uganda, a variety of computer training courses are offered on the market. Usually, they are sold by entrepreneurs making varying claims concerning the quality of courses and certificates, often without any objective evidence.

To overcome this challenge and in order to give an opportunity to African people to benchmark their ICT qualifications with the developed world, the Programme has been developed. The Programme comprises 5 standardized training modules. Learning outcomes are assessed by a final competence test.

The ICT Passport

Upon successful completion of the test, an internationally recognized Certificate is awarded. The ICT Passport certifies that a person is competent in using computer and common software applications as well as Internet and email. In Uganda, the ICT Passport is exclusively offered by the e-Competence Network.
